WMC-The Camden College is an outstanding local community college based in Camden, London, with over 161 years of experience in educating adults. Founded in 1854, WMC-The Camden College is the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe and was associated with the Cooperative Movement and the Christian Socialists, stemming, from the same tradition that led later to the Worker’s Educational Association.
Originally based in Red Lion Street, WMC – The Camden College have been in this listed building in Camden since 1905. They have continued to develop the tradition of liberal education and today the College serves the whole community, in Camden and beyond. They have grown rapidly in recent years but are still small enough to know all their learners and to respond to their individual needs
